Download the Sunset WoW launcher to install and update our custom content automatically. You need a World of Warcraft 3.3.5a client (build 12340) before you start.
1Sunset WoW Launcher
Sunset WoW Launcher 1.6.4Checks your game files, downloads missing patches and add-ons, and connects to Sunset WoW.
2Install and update
- Close WoW and extract the launcher ZIP into your game folder. Keep
launcher.defaults.json beside SunsetWowLauncher.exe. - Open the launcher. In Settings, select your WoW 3.3.5a folder.
- Set the patch server to
https://sunset-wow.org/patches and the realmlist to sunset-wow.org if you used an older launcher. - The launcher prepares your existing Wow.exe for WarcraftXL and keeps its original as Wow.exe.orig. No custom game executable is downloaded. Conflicting foreign patches are moved directly into Data/OLD Patches. Our installed patches are replaced on updates without keeping old copies; identical files are reused.
- Let the launcher finish checking and updating. A full content download is about 6.0 GiB; existing matching files are skipped.
- Create your account, then press Play.
Returning players
Use the launcher to update your existing client. The current content version is 2026.10.20-forge.1. Old manual download links are no longer needed.

Register here, then log in using your game account. The realmlist is set realmlist sunset-wow.org.
